    hi i recently downloaded an up date for mozilla and it said my java runtime 6 and 6.1 were not compatible and had been disabled is this normal? thx for help.rolleyes

    What's incompatible is the Java Console, an extension which is installed with Java. It's not anything you need to run Java applets, it's a debugging tool that's of little use to end users.

    Evilfantasy is right, though; you should update Java and uninstall the outdated versions. After I did that I still got the incompatibility message, however, even though that was supposed to have been fixed. That's not important, though; what matters is to get the security updates contained in the latest Java version and get rid of older, less secure versions.
