MP3 encoding

Si, I have promised that by next morning I will have turned some wma files into MP3s. The thing is that dBpowerAMP program that I use doesn't support wma format.
I downloaded MediaCoder from here but when I transcode the files the outcoming Mp3s sound like... a blink of sound. As you can see I am in trouble .
Can someone suggest another encoding app or enlighten me on any adjustments I have to do with MediaCoder?
Time is on the essence, I know you won't let me down guys :major

 

Super 2007 Build 23 works well for me for audio and video

 

dbPowerAmp needs you to download a special Windows Media Codec from dbPowerAmp site.

You could try freeware Switch from NCH Swift, I use it sometimes for audio conversion. It does wma as long as it is not a protected file.
Small, uncluttered interface, fairly fast.
(I prefer BeLight for audio conversion, but it doesn't do wma at all)

If you do decide to get Switch, make sure to click the very top download button for the freeware version, the others are for payware.

I personally like Audacity, but I don't know if it supports wma. You could record it though, then convert it out.

 

StealthArcher, Audacity is a wowzer all right!
But no, it does not support wma.

( I can't record streaming audio with Audacity with my last 3 pcs --- integrated RealTek sound chips on every one, and something about them is just not working for recording with any application. Windows Sound Mixer is very crippled with RealTek chip installed. So sad :-(
