mp3 icon space

hi everyone...i have a problem and could really use your help. i have tons of mp3 music and here's my problem. some of my mp3 songs show my windows media player icon with the mp3 song immediately following while most of the others show the windows media icon with one space then the mp3 song following. the problem is they won't let me rename them so they all have a space between the icon and the song. i'm using xp so if anyone has had this problem and knows a solution i would greatly appreciate it...thanks so much!!!
