What causes my MP3 downloads to 'skip' something like the old vinyl records used to do if jarred?

Too many applications running at the same time that hog your systems resources possibly. Did they used to run okay? What is your computer's specification and what applications are you running at the same time as the MP3 player (specify which you use).

Actually, the problem is when I'm listening to the downloads as they're in action. Nothing else is operational, program wise. My o/s is windows xp home with 1.9 GHz + 1 G ram

So you are trying to listen to the downloads while they are still downloading, correct? What OS are you running?

You never answered my question as to whether you used to be able to do this okay at any time previously, and what mp3 player application you are using.

Go figure! Playbacks are fine. I just figured that the download playbacks was what I was going end up with !!

    So to be a pain!
