I am looking for an MP3 recorder that records from fm radio. I record talks from fm radio for the hearing impaired. I had great results from a creative zen that I had for over 10 years and now it has bit the dust. I tried to have it refurbished but with now success. I am looking for a new mp3 fm recorder that will give me good service. I need the sound to be good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you,

    Wadda

    Hi Wadda

Can I just ask one question and that is, would this be internet radio or a physical one you need to plug into your PC?

If Internet try the demo HERE of Audials.

I am sorry I wasn't clear enough. I record talks that are transmitted over radio fm frequency so they can be recorded to an MP3 Player/and listened to by the hearing impaired. For those who cannot be present for the talk, I burn it to a CD.

    thank you,

If you can find the radio station on the computer, this would probably record it on your computer http://dar.fm/
from there you could burn to a CD or convert whatever format it is in to an mp3 file.

You can use Free Sound Recorder.

FYI Uncheck any unwanted junk during the installation.

Thank you for that input. I am kind of OLD and don't know if I know how to find the radio station on my computer. The radio is at the facility where the talks are given, so I guess it would be a closed radio station just for that cite. I don't think I am savvy enough to do that.

    Thank you though.

I am not familiar with the Creative Zen. How were you using it to record the talks?

I am sorry I wasn't clear enough. I record talks that are transmitted over radio fm frequency right at the location of the speaker. I tie into the radio frequency with my mp3 recorder so they can be recorded to an MP3 Player/and listened to by the hearing impaired. Those who have a radio device and need hearing assistance can tune into the frequency. For those who cannot be present for the talk, I burn it to a CD.

I'm guessing you don't want to buy a new MP3 player which is understandable. Have you tried using your cellphone? Even the cheapest ones have a FM radio. Tune into any FM radio station and check whether there is an option to record. Then buy a memory card for the phone.

FYI I can do what you want to do with my Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo which is costing me less than $10/month. The new price is about $60.
