What is the formula for understanding how many audio files can be burned to CD? I can burn files to the total sum of 700 MB but cannot hear them all. The CD is an 80 min. My question is: How do I judge what is the correct sum of files that can be burned to CD and still be audio on my players?

It depend on wich format do you use to burn on the cd MP3,OGG,WMV or audio format for every cd player for that it's around 20 songs.

Hello, like I told you here, you need to burn those MP3s as audio tracks, and the same program you use to burn will show you the space available, and used, not in MB, but in minutes and seconds, since you ar burning in audio format.

What burning program do you have or are planning to use?

I am using Nero 6, but was told that is what is giving the problems, then switched to the Creative Media Source organizer and still have the problems. Everytime I burn from the MP3 files I get different results. I have trashed a case of cds with only a handful that work on all my cd players and I can't figure out why sometimes they come out great and other times will not play at all. Some messages I get on my players says, "there is no disc". I record talks and seminars that are 20 minutes to a couple of hours. When I put a couple of files on a cd usually the first one will be audible. The other talks are on the cd but cannot be played. Some of them will play in the dvd player of my tv. I am trying to burn them in a format that will play on all the cd players. I tried the .cda format in Nero but that wouldn't play on the players. Now I received some cds "Audio" with talks up to an hour and they play great on any player I put them on. At this point, I am confused as to what I am doing wrong.

Nonsense. I've burnt lots of audio CDs with Nero6 and never had 1 problem.
Maybe your CD-writer is not working well?
