I just got an mp3 flash player and need some help. Which program is the best to convert mp3s to wma's. I tried winamp but either mine is malfunctioning or I am doing something wrong.

P.s . What is a decent kbps level to record at (lowest) before my songs might not sound well when played by my player?

DBPowerAMP is a good converter, you will need to download the add on Codecs to convert to WMA from Mp3

Lowest I would say is 128kbps to keep some decient sound quality.

Does your Winamp have a WMA encoder codec? Why convert them? If it's an MP3 player, it should play MP3s. It will reduce the sound quality of the song file somewhat whenever you convert it to another format.

is it a noticable sound degrading when i convert from an mp3 (128-192) to a wma (32-96). I mean if i listen to it on my muvo creative mp3 player will i really be able to tell there's a difference?

As for winamp I have no idea but what would I have to download to switch from a mp3 to a wma of the above specs.

Please read below reply cause I need more info....As for why I want to switch formats it's just to fit more music into my player and cause if there's almost no noticable different to a person's ear than it won't matter to keep it as a mp3 song.

I would suggest that there is NO reason to convert from '.mp3' to '.wma'.
-There might be a legitimate reason to convert from '.wav' to either '.mp3' or '.wma' -the legitimate reason being you are trying to shrink a file down -but any popular player should be able to play '.mp3' or '.wma'
    -Did that help at all?

Winamp can't encode WMA files-it can only play them.
You could convert the high bitrate MP3s to a lower bitrate MP3, but I see no advantage going from MP3 to WMA.
I believe anything below 112 kbps in WMA format will have a noticeable reduction in quality, though in your case it will depend on the quality of your headphones. I would definitely not go below 96 kbps.
