In Nero, did you select Audio CD? MP3 files will be automatically converted to the Audio CD format.
Are other Audio CDs working in your CD player?

The only possibilities I can think of are the brand of CD and the writing speed.
If they haven't changed, then this is a mystery to me.

Another possibility is that your burner has failed. How old is the unit and have you burned any other type of CD (ie. data) lately with the unit to test it?

    I agree.
Does the CD play in your CD writer?

Are you referring to the CD writer or CD player?

If possible, burn an audio CD using a Verbatim CD-R.
    Then...
    1. If it plays in the CD player, then the problem is with the Kodak discs.
    2. If it doesn't play in the CD player, then the problem is with the CD player.
Of course, neither of the 2 scenarios explain why the old discs play in the CD player.
Unfortunately, I'm out of possible solutions.

Back in the day we used Windows Media Player to do this job, unfortunately I believe, like Paint, it is no longer included with the Operating system. The problem was usually the write speed was set to high, and the settings can vary by optical drive. I haven't used Nero in years as it got to be quite a resource hog. Ashampoo has a free version of their burning studio on this web site that will do, or possibly try to turn down the write speed and check you are writing from a wave or mp3 file. I also use Verbatim discs whenever available.
