MP3's on internet pages

Hi folks,

I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0. There is a site I go to frequently where both midi files and mp3 files are on different pages as background music. How come I can hear the midi music on those pages but not the mp3 music on the other pages?

I asked the site designer and he said it is not a broken link. He said that it must have something to do with my browser setup as some people can hear the mp3 background music and some cannot whereas noone has a problem with the midi music.

I went to my internet tools options and can't find anything to turn on or off. Please help. I am including the URL below to a midi page and to an mp3 page:

Do you have wimamp install in your machine ???

 

I think it's Media Player that you need to worry about, not Winamp.

Do you have the latest version of Media Player? Might want to look into that, also.. just to be certain.. you do know that the mp3 you're talking about is like 4-5 seconds long. It just repeats..

But yah, check on updates for WMP, and that's all I can really think of.

 

Browsers have integrated Midi and WAV playing capabilities, but not MP3.

in order to hear an MP3 on a site, the webpage must either use an embedded media player such as WMP or quicktime, or a Java applett or Flash.

if they do not do the above, you must open a 3rd party application such as WMP or Winamp to play the MP3.
