I am trying to find a simple way to convert mp3 files to DVD audio. My search of this is coming up with very little, and some pretty old software, some of which is no longer available/supported. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to use VLC player to convert for free.Edit this does work with audio files as well.

Skip to 1:31 on how to do this.

Yes. VLC does not appear to convert mp3's to DVD audio.

What DVD format you looking for.

I doubt you'll find such software.
More importantly, converting MP3 to any other format will not improve the sound quality.
Rather just burn the MP3s to a DVD.

    Most standard DVDs are MPEG-2

I want to convert to "DVD Audio" I am not attempting to improve quality. MP'3 burned to dvd will not play on dvd player. It has to be in dvd audio.

It does not convert to "dvd audio". It has to be in that format. I already have mp3 format.

To explain what I am trying to do. My mom wants to hear the bible read to her. I have mp3 files of the bible. The new testament I can fit on a CD, which will play mp3 files on a DVD player. However the old testament is 1.8GB in mp3 format. Due to the structure of dvd's I can put mp3's in it with no problem, but they will not play in her DVD player. I could divide it up onto 3 Cd's I am trying to get around doing that.

You might need to buy a license which is like 35.00$ a year.

Same here. It appears to have changed it name to "any mp4 to dvd". It does not even see mp3 files for some reason. I will dig more and see if it is hidden somewhere in settings or something.

Something is not right. The software is nothing like what is described on the site. It appears to only burn mp4 to dvd or blu-ray. Unless I am missing something.

I would like to thank everyone for there suggestions, and help. Wile e coyote, I could not get that program to work as it stated it would. For now I think I will try a low bit rate into mp3 and see if I can make it small enough. It is just voice, so it need not have high fidelity. If anyone has any other ideas I would love to try it. Thank you.

    Something is amiss...
I just dug out my old DVDs and found one with MP3 songs, and it played in my 15-year old DVD Player.

Yes, I think you are right plodr. Just wanted to check if anyone knew of something that would work.
Eldon, I may try burning it to dvd just to see what happens, at worse I wasted dvd.
    Thanks again everyone.

    Let us know what happens.
I've never burned mp3 files to DVDs; I only burn those to CDs. I stopped burning a while ago. Now everything is either on sd cards, micro sd cards or USB sticks. I can store a lot more that way and I'm trying to downsize.

Does it have a USB port?

No, I wish it did have a USB port.

But here is the verdict. MP3's burned as a data disk on a dvd works just fine on a dvd player. I thought it didn't, but my little nephew had disconnected the cables, so I thought it did not work. Also, before I found that out, I did some heavy compression,(Mono, @ 8000Hz sample rate, and 10kbps bit rate), makes for a barely acceptable sound for voice. Size was from 1.9GB to 285MB's. So that was more compression than was needed.

BTW, Dolby now owns the codec for DVD-audio now. (Meridian Lossless Packing), It cost about 4k. You can rent it...yes rent it. It is still 2k. Not sure how long that is for, but still way out of my range. So I decided against that...lol. But it can do awesome things with sound. It is the backbone of 6-channel Dolby surround. You can still buy DVD-A disc from hand full of record labels, in very limited supply. Be prepared, they are priced from as little as 12-15bucks, to several hundred, depending on the artist, and how many they made.

Once again, Thank you, to all that helped me.

Thanks wile e, But I got it working. I did not have to compress any more. A dvd with standard mp3's burned to a dvd play just fine in the DVD player.
