MP3's

Hi all.
Don't know if this is the right place but..............
I am trying to burn MP3's to a CD using Nero.
There are 109 files in total and the info when hovering over the folder says 483mb. Each file is no bigger than 5mb.
When I try to put them on CD I am told that I will need 5 CD's yet the empty CD is 702mb.
Why is this??

You need to use the Data Disk function to put the MP3s onto the CD as MP3 files.

I assume you're using the Audio CD option, which will burn the music into a normal CD player format.

Yeah, thanks for the reply, I tried using the data otion and it works ok.
Do you know why the 483mb of data appears as several gigabytes when using the music option.

MP3 files are encoded in a way to make the file size manageable... initially used for computers only, until MP3-compatible players started coming out. Regular audio CDs use a completely different format that requires a lot more space on the disk, which is why when you buy a music CD at a store, the most you'll ever get is maybe 20 songs on a CD. If you try to burn MP3 files using Nero's Audio CD tool, Nero will convert the MP3 files into regular audio files (I believe WAV files?), so it doesn't actually burn the files as MP3 to the CDs.
