Mp3z

I have hard drive that has about 20 gigs of Mp3z, however half of which will play and of which will not.. The ones that have the problem play but bits and pieces of other songs on the hard drive......If I copy the file to another PC or play it in another player it does the same thing.......Is it corrupt to the point where I cannot repair it.....what the hell would cause this..I scanned for everything under the sun......confused..been deal with mp3z for long time and have yet to encounter anything like this or even hear of such a thing......strange

 

Your explanation of the problem is slightly confusing.

Are you saying that only half of your songs will play and the other half will not?

If this is the case then please answer the following questions:

1. Have these songs ever been able to play?
2. What happens when you try to play them?
3. Are you sure that they are all MP3 files?
4. What software are you using to play them?

 

yeah sorry it was a bit confusing ......Im just so mad right now.....cant think st8...

2. What happens when you try to play them?----they play little 2-3 second clips of completly different songs....

3. Are you sure that they are all MP3 files?...yes 100%
4. What software are you using to play them...any at this point from winamp to wmp to all sortds of third party players....

Try an download a mp3 to wav converter and after the conversion see what it plays.

 

cannot encode to any other forma tjust gives an error......I thinking maybe the file table is corrupt?

Try K-MP3 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4342.html It has a file quality analyzer as a feature. If they are corrupted, you will have to re-rip them.
