My Roxio discs will no longer install and is a known issue with reinstallation.

Does anyone know of a freeeware burner I can burn mp4 video files with?
Someone suggested CDBurnerXP but it does not say it burns mp4 files unless I missed it.
I have a Flip camera and want to burn the mp4 files to dvd.
Can therebe a burner without converters etc?
    Thank you
    Peter

    mp4

    Win 7 x64, i5, 1T, MSIE 9
My Flip video cam creates MP4 files.
I had Roxio Easy CD and DVD Easy Burning ver 10.3(starter kit) preloaded on my Dell XPS 8300.
After I reformatted and reinstalled the o.s., I lost the application.
I have a disc for the Roxio above but it would not install saying it needed ecm 10 in
    order to do so.
Dell techs tried but failed to install from both the disc and Roxio.
Thay are sending a new disc slightly different but feel it ptobably will not work because of the previous tries with the old disc or Roxio is having issues.

I need to either find a way to fix this,or, get a burner that will burn MP4 video files, as described below.

I used to simply drag and drop these files from my desktop into my Roxio burn icon and the disc was created without conversion etc.
Due to my average skill level I need a fix or a similiar program which will allow me to simply drag and drop into the burner without conversions or difficult tasks.

    Can you help me out.
    Thank you

Sorry to pester but would imgburn do this job before I download it?

IMHO, ImgBurn would be too hard. You need to build a queue and decide on the size of the burn using a calculator before you burn the DVD. After you have it close to the size you want and the queue is built, you then burn the disk.

Thank you, Plodr for the timely tip.

Would you think a retail program like Nero would bypass conversions etc and allow for a drag and drop with MP4 files like I did with my Roxio. I would avoid Roxio only b/c residual files may be in the machine which may not allow for a clean install.?

Caliban I don't need no steenkin' title!

The FlipShare software has built-in DVD creation capabilities - open the 'Create' tab.

I found that when I opened the program win 5.12 it corrupted the WMP.
    How do I avoid that?

I called Flip and they agree about the "create but said I need a burner that will support avi or mp4 files.

I wanted to report that my issue with the MP4 files is resolved for those who may benefit after reading this. I found a freeware program called 'sothink dvd moviie maker' which converts and burns my Flip's mp4 video files.
It is fast and clear. There is a 2 second ad in the video which you can avoid by buying the pro. It is hardly noticeable and I am glad to report the issue is resolved for me and those who need a converter/burner.

    Hello
I am sorry to be back and need help.
    I have Win 7 x 64 Home Premium, i5, 6 GB
This Dell came preloaded with Roxio 10.3 and when I imported my Flip camera's MP4 video files it converted and burned dvds easily.

I had to reinstall the o.s and even though Dell sent a Roxio disc, they were unable to install it. Two were tried and each time there was an error stating ecm 10 needed to be installed first. Dell techs tried to no avail so I have no way of making my Flip videos into dvd.

I have tried everything I know to replace this but there is always an issue.
I thought I had it done when I found Sothink but the free version was full of ads so I do not trust it.

When I speak with Nero, they sound as though they do not know their products and try to sell me expensive programs I am not sure will work.

I avoid Roxio as their software is having issues with me and in general.

How can I plug my camera in and, as simply as my lost program, make a dvd from the mp4 files?

I would really appreciate some advice and I am running out of ideas and searches.

    Peter

Very odd! My Nero 10 burns .mp4 video files with no problems at all!

    >>I tried the disc Roxio sent me out of desperation called Roxio Creator 10.3 Premium Blue Ray.
To my surprise it installed unlike the two previous discs. However, it could not handle MP4 video files although it made a great video with no voice.
I poked around the help and community and sure enough it only does mp3.

Are mp4 older or younger than mp3?

    >>Thank you for the good read. It is odd that mp3 is the audio file and mp4 both because we got a nice video with no audio. The burner supports mp3.
I guess the converter burner/ could not convert the mp4 files.
Too much for me to understand, in depth. I just want a converter burner like I used to have.
Friends have yet to get back to me. If no luck, I will dowload MGs DVD Video.

Your title indicates you are using Roxio Easy AudioCD. Of course mp4 is NOT supported by just creating audio.
The title should say MyDVD not Easy Audio. (I haven't used Roxio in years so I am clueless as to what anything beyond version 6 looks like).

    >>I appreciate your help. The name is Roxio Creator 10.3 Premier Blue Ray
We just opened the program and when we clicked on audio Converter with the files loaded, the box appeared which said this is not supported.
The literature may say mp4 but my program does not, as far as i can find.
