robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

I am converting VOB file to MP4 H246 useing VLC.
I am going to use 1,000kbps because it works great at Low bit rates and gives good video.

In the VLC bit rate box it has the kbps like this in there you just have to type the Numbers you want.

So I typed 1 so it looks like this
    1kbps

    Thois is 1,000 bps

Or sould I have typed 1000

the video bit rate should be 8000 kbps for HD but 1000 should still be ok

Thanks but what I ment is I want to use One Thousand Bits per sec

And since the Box has the kbps in it I just typed the number 1 infront so it looks like this
    1kbps

Did I do it right or sould I have did 1000 infront of the kbps???

This is what I was thinking as well.

But if it has kbps in the Box I thought it ment it will ad 1000 to whatever number you type in

So if I type 1000 and it has kbps it will be One Million bit per sec?

Yes, a kilobit is 1000 bits. So effectively, 1000 kbps is 1,000,000 bits per second.

However, 1000 kbps is a relatively low bit rate... I'm pretty sure that's what you'd want to go for. 1000 bits per second, or 1 kbps, might be good enough for a 1"x1" screen on a $20 prepaid cell phone for viewing.

I am not going to have any fast moving action so I think I can go with 1kbps
    mp4 H246

And I am going to keep it at standard resalotion

Can someone do this for me this will clear everything up for me?

Type out the word of how Low a bit rate I can use to still get good video with H246?

The video has no action or FX.

I thought I can use ONE THOUSAND bits per sec
or sould I use ONE MILLION bits per sec?

I am keeping vido at standard resalotion

I have a bit of video encoding experience, and the lowest bitrate I would go with for standard resolution is 600 kbps, or 600,000 bits per second. And that's extremely low.
