MPC Media Player Classic Autoplay Doesn't "Stick" ??

hi folks
interesting little problem. I really like Media Player Classic with all the codecs etc in the latest version - it does a super job on virtually all vid media types you can throw at it. On a test bed machine I have it running just fine, playing movies etc without a hitch, except one. I have set the options in Win XP Pro to play DVD movies "autoplay" and selected MPC as the choice for the option but it still does not play DVD's upon insert.

any clues as to how to get past this problem?
