MS access missing registry info

:cry My work machine runs on MS WinXP Pro Version 2002 service pack 2. I have MS Office 2000 Small Business installed; and I use Outlook, Word and Excel. I added Access and PowerPoint from Office 2000 Premium today. PowerPoint works fine, but Access gives me this error: "Missing registry info - Required registry info is missing and this application cannot run. Please run setup to correct this problem." I installed the extra programs in a separate folder, thinking I'd avoid confusion. I uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck. Is there a way to get Access to work???

 

If you run Setup again, as instructed, and then click the Repair Office option, you still see this error message when you start one of the Office programs.

This error message can be caused by missing, incorrect, or corrupted information in the following registry keys:

The problem occurs when the value data for the ProductID string value is incorrect or corrupted.

For specific fix it open Help and support center from your start button type in missing registry information and click search under technical articles choose You recieve a "required registry information is missing and this application cannot run" error message when you start an Office 2000 program.

You will be instructed to make changes to the regitry editor...be careful...

 

Thanks, jewlzs. After finding 14 subkeys and 4 IDs under Products in RegEdit, I gave up and just uninstalled the two programs. I'm thinking I'd be wise to just install MS2003, which has all the programs I need in one version. Should I uninstall the old MS2000SB, or try to update to 2003? I must be sure not to lose info from the current Outlook and Word. I appreciate the help!

 

Might wanna just try updating it first.
