Just trying to decide once again whether or not MS Digital Image Suite software could truly crash Vista, or simply work unpredictably with Vista since it was designed for XP.
    Any thoughts currently?
In general, can any app made for XP really crash Vista or simply not work well with Vista?

    Hi

Yes if you have Digital Imaging Suite 2006 then it will work fine in Vista, I have this app installed adn no issues with it at all, older versions I have no idea on.

Yes any application that is not listed as Vista compatible "could" possibly crash Vista, depending what the app is mind it could if it adds services, BSOD the system, if a normal app then it may just not work or lockup at the worst case.

However many apps for XP will work fine in Vista,

    • Check for updates to the app.
    • If it doesnt install normally, right click the installer and choose run as administrator as at times that helps apps install that are not Vista compat.
    • Run in compatability mode for XP SP2
    • If an app is one that would edit registry ir alike then set its Compatability to always run as admin,

Thanks Halo. You and I have the same version. Guess it was a coincidence when it first crashed since I was doing other stuff too at the time.
