NEC computers?? Who the heck are they lol?

And the wheels roll on for the Windows Whingers.

We (users and the tech press alike) are quick to judge Microsoft at an almost unbearably high standard.
We glory in our righteous indignation when we think the giant has stumbled or mistreated us.

The fault, dear members, may not be in the updates, but rather in our own installs, how it was done, and what third-party software mixes exist.

Im glad none of you lot work for me.......you'd all be sooking about not being able to make the coffee machine work.

So you act like nobody is allowed to discuss the problems. If you read the article you would see a broader problem, not just NEC.

    Quote>>
"While Microsoft has stated that this issue is only affected NEC computers, from the user's reports it is also affecting WiFi adapters on motherboards such as X470 AORUS GAMING 7, MSI Gaming Pro Carbon X370, Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 7, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC, and MSI Gaming X470 M7 AC.

Even more confusing is that some of the users are exhibiting these issues on their LAN adapters and not just wireless adapters.

For now, though, Microsoft has issued a compatibility hold on affected devices so that they will not be offered the Windows 10 version 1903 update."<< Quote

It might be good to pay attention as some of these 'other' models may belong to your clients.

Printers, sound, search, wifi, lan.....a list to be aware of.

I didn't realize that NEC was still in business

One of my girlfriend's daughters had one in college and gave her nothing but trouble. Her daughter in now in her 40's so we're talking at least 20 years ago. My girlfriend ended up buying another computer and driving close to 200 miles (321 km) one way to give her daughter another brand and picking up the NEC. My gf paid for on-site support for the NEC but they refused to honor that.

I have noticed some start menu issues the last 5-6 times I did a clean install of Windows 10, but after applying all updates the start menu issue seems to go away...the latest issue I'm facing is printer problems. Five client workstations (just this week!) have suddenly decided to stop printing. This is at three different clients. No similar software other than Windows 10 (one of the clients doesn't even use Chrome). From my basic research so far it appears that the spooler service decides to just "not start" when Windows starts, even though it's set to Automatic. Seems that setting to service to recover on subsequent failures and then rebooting the computer fixes it, however it's weird how multiple clients have had the exact same issue at around the same time! Must have been a rogue update :/

    Question:
Why do so many people stay with Windows 10?
I tried the OS I hated it. I found it user Unfriendly.
Made Linux look better than anything else.

Because it's a very fast, convenient operating system. It's faster and more stable than a lot of Linux distro's I've tried and a lot less hassle to set up. Even my parents can set up a working W10 pc, that's how easy it is.

Honestly the only problem I've got with W10 isn't even Microsoft related. It's Kaspersky and HP drivers that are buggy and can cause crashes.
