ms-dos compatibility mode problem

I Have this damn Win 98 on my computer, a Sony Cybershoot DSC-P1 connected to the usb, all drivers installed right, no sign of error, except when i try to access the removabile disk that appears when i'm connecting the camera. (i can't reproduce the message that it says, cause it's in italian). Anyway, in the system information panel it says that this removabile disk (camera) is functioning in ms-dos compatibility mode, or smt like that (cause, as i were saying, it's in italian). I tryed to install some other drivers, but with no succes, even to remove the NOID value from registry, as i read in other tutorials, but it wasn't there (as everithing it should be ok).... What is to be done ???? Can anyone help me ?
