ms office 2000 multi language pack

    Hey all -

    Please help!! I'm trying to assist one of my clients with ... what I thought ... was an 'easy' issue ... installing a different language file for MS Word!!!


    AAAaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggHHHHHHH!!!

    Apparently, I need to install the item mentioned in the thread title, "ms office 2000 multi language pack" ... problem is ... where the H**L is it!?!?!?

    All i want is my client's computer to work right with her language of choice installed with it's own dictionary and functions!

    Is it TOO much to ask for a copy of an 8 year old program??? Just so my client can write and edit in Portuguese!!

    Any suggestions as to where to get this???

    I looked everywhere on MS site ... and even went to torrent sites with no luck!!!

    I just want to install the Portuguese language for her to write and edit her book properly!

    The MUI pack for Office 2000 is on a seperate CD that should have come with the Office 2000 with MUI Pack set, and the instructions for installing these are below

    but before you think great, I cracked it, Office MUI version are different to what you buy retail in the shops or come with PCs, these are localized language versions and don't have MUI packs, the only versions that you can get MUI packs for or these days have them built in are Enterprise, Open Licence or HUP versions of Office and these are aquired by companies or folk with MSDN/Technet accounts.


    You can as no doubt someone will suggest change the input language of the OS, guessing at XP in this case with the instructions, but this does not add the proofing, spellcheck etc tools to Office, for that you still need an MUI version of Office.

    I was afraid of this! :cry

    I've been searching since mid afternoon yesterday, trying to find the software!

    You would think that someone would have a used version for sale ... somewhere!! :confused

    Anyway, thanks for the info ... I will just have to disappoint my client, after telling her that it could be done! :eek:

    If anyone runs across this package of CD's and wants to sell, please contact me!

    I have many older clients that speak many languages!
