MS Office 2000

I recently had to re-install XP+sp3 and of course had to re-install Office 2000.
However, I now find that if I try to open an office file, be it Word or Excel, a message pops up saying "Ready to Install" and it procedes to install MS Word or Excel, and configures it on the way before it opens the document.
I've used MS Office 2000 for years with no problem until this started to happen.
All MS Office programs show as being installed on my C Drive, yet this re configuring has to take place before any program opens!!
All tips accepted.

 

when you installed it did you have the option to run all programs from my computer checked?
also check the ms office update website and see if you have all the updates for office 2000

I uninstalled and reinstalled it fully and everything worked fine.
Re updates! I had sp3 installed, which apparently gives me everything I need.
