    Hello, all:

I'm back with yet another basic question that I think I should know the answer to but don't.

I had a hard crash / non-boot situation with my PC (XP Pro SP3), but I recovered from it with all data "intact".

However, many of the programs are not linked (or something).

For example (and the subject of this question in particular):

I have MS Office Pro Edition 2003 in the PC, and have the key, but it won't start up (Word in particular).

How do I activate what I have, or where can I download a new installation (and use my key)?

    Thank you.

Thank you - apparently it does not. More back story:

When I performed the repair / in-place upgrade, it brought me to SP2 condition....and then I had to download all the SP2 security upgrades etc....and then I installed SP 3 and all upgrades....and yet here I am with no MS Office....

I have another computer with operable MS Office Pro 2003 that I could copy in.

If so, how would I activate that one for use?

Yes, I have used that KeyFinder (hence my knowledge of the key)

The more basic question is, after I copy the "basic" program file in, do I start or "activate" MS Off Pro 2003 by finding MSO.exe in the program files or can I find an install command or ??

it's in the help tab for office 2007 and 2010. I don't have a 2003 version to find out where exactly...

but i did find this article

    Code:
    Office 2003
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration
    source : http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/i...-the-microsoft-office-system-HA001118776.aspx

    Thank you.

I ended up "cheating" by using a friend's CD and reinstalling...
