I hope there is an easy answer to this, and if so my apologies for not finding it myself. New to Publisher.

I am creating a programme of events. Each event will have a five-line description and a small picture, merged from an Excel sheet and a folder of picture files. The final programme will be over 500 events long, but for trials I am using a subset of 50. The Catalog Merge deals with this successfully and outputs each five line block as a text box.

The main content of the programme will be these listings, but they won't be the only content. There will be front and back covers, a preface and, especially, adverts. Some full page, some half- or quarter-page. The listings need to run around these adverts, e.g. a half-page ad at the top of a page and the next few listings below.

I have not succeeded in finding out how to do this. I have placed a half-page picture on page 2 of a new file and used a text box on the other half, linking it to pages 1 and 3 of the same file. In the output file from the catalog-merge, I have grouped the five-line boxes and tried to paste them into the new publication. Either the paste stops at page 1 or it overwrites the half-page picture.

Is there any guidance on how to run groups of text boxes like this around advertisements etc?

Thank you in advance for all help received.
