    Hello all

I've been hired to upgrade a companys web and database server. Before they had MS SQL 2000 and now they want 2005. No problem, done that. My issue is that before all the database strings had "Data Source=(local)" in them and since upgrading to MS SQL 2005 I had to change it to "Data Source=.\[COMPUTERNAME]"

Again, not an issue....until I found a webservice that was running will no longer run, after much looking and proding, it's because it's still using "Data Source=(local)". I updated a web.config and it still won't work.

I've never made a webservice so don't reeeeally know what I'm doing in that sense. So my solution is to either

    1. Make SQL 2005 recognise "(local)" in the database string as valid
    2. Recompile the webservice with the new database string

Been googling for a while.... im all googled out.

I would rather the first option, but if the second option is easy to do than great.

Let me know if you require any information. The webservice is in C#.NET and I'm still learning C#.NET

Thanks in advanced for advice, links, code etc :)
