MS Update keeps updating same patch KB931784

Hi,
I looked at another thread regarding the same problema nd tried everything in that post excluding contacting MS as I know those guys are useless.

I also tried 'WindowsXP-KB931784-x86-ENU.exe /o' from command prompt.
No use.
I get a msg box saying 'update cannot be installed as a newer or same timezone update has already been installed on the system'

I have ticked the box 'do not prompt for this update' and problem goes away.
Is there no permanent solution

I am running this on Windows XP SP2 with all patches applied till yesterday.
Only this patch was giving me grief for 1-2 months now. I reinstalled my OS then. Old OS already had this patch and no grief.

I had ticked 'do not prompt for this update' till yesterday.
After reading other thread I downloaded it and tried '/o' option and got the error message i gave in my post.
I think i tried to apply this patch very late.

I have hidden it again now so the issue is gone.

May shed light on it, I Googled this:

I could not understand how 2 of my files are of lower rev
Any pointers...
