MS Updates Failing to Install - Win 7 Pro IE 11

Hi Folks,

MS Updates Failing to Install - Win 7 Pro IE 11, I have been having this problem for way to long to continue letting it go. For some reason some Updates run and others fail.

Today I broke down and went the Clean Boot suggested here (too long ago) and that failed also. So I am back at square one with hit and miss Updates installing. I also tried MS Fit It to no avail.

Any repairs for this Serious Problem would be appreciated.

MY OS is as Follows:
Win 7 Pro running on a HP p7-1010 PC with an AMD Athlon ll 645 Pro 3.1 GHz, 14 Gb RAM,
on a 64 bit OS.

When I tried again to do the Updates after the clean boot I all I got was an 80070490 error code. When I checked on this it I have tried using SURT as advised. It told me all fixes were made with green check marks. When I ran the Updater again I ended up with 3 error codes the 80070490, 80246002 and 80246007 error codes.

When I went through all of this before and went to do the next suggestion which it to do a repair via CD it did not work and I was told to do the clean boot to repair the problem.

Now I have two more codes than I had when I started this whole process to deal with. I did the 800246007 procedure and the settings were already set up properly. The 80070002 is where I stand now. I just don’t know if I will have any luck with this either because is circles right back around to the SURT procedure.

I will give the 80070002 process a try in soon and if that also brings me back to the SURT procedure I will be back at square 1.
