Are these not installing via auto windows update or the online WU? ( reason the update DB file on yoru PC can just corrupt and fail updates or say they are installed and then try and install them again )

Quick way I have found to fix this is try to download the manual updates, just search for the KB#s and you will find the manual downloadables.

Manual downloading doesn't work either Halo, and neither does "Automatic updates" in fact I tried to download IE 7 from here and that would not install either...........even tried renaming "Software Distribution" folder to see if that would work.............Possible related item is that her date file did not change with "Day light Savings change" so I manually changed the time...........confused confused Dang thing has me stumped, but Thanks for the thoughts

Thanks again Halo gave it a short read, will give it a longer one later. Sorry first thing I tried was Dail a Fix, but that didn't work either.............It does not return any "Error Code" just says it failed to install the above:cry confused

Make sure the time and date are correct and a language is selected under Internet Options.

To check the language setting in Internet Explorer:

    1. Click "Tools" and then choose "Internet Options"
    2. Click the "Languages" button
    3. Make sure at least one language is listed in the "Language Options" dialog.

The problem started with the "New" daylight savings change, so I have to manually set the time and yes there is a language in IE, but Thanks Steve

The thing that really ticks me off is that I know it will be a simple "Fix" but what??????????????/

Longshot as this is a fix for a Vista issue with WU not installing updates or being able to manually install, but worth a try.

    then try again.

also longshot, and you may need to backup any emails and files created since the restore point, but how about restoring back to before the failed DST update and trying again, but not updating via XP but via http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-us

Also BC, if you go into Admin Tools > Error Logs, are their any aroudn the time you try to install the updates? if so attach a log of one of them in a text doc.

Have you "disabled" any services on that system?

You would probably get an error when updating like Halo suggested, but it could be something to check.
