ms word normal.dot

Everytime I try to close MS Word or shut down my computer I get the error message:

Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dot. do you wish to save these changes?

I always click yes and it never changes. I use ms word every day and shut down my computer once a week and it gets annoying. I have tried deleting this file, it doesn't work.

I have run spybot and come up clean, I ran Symantec AV and it comes up clean. I am running win2K. I have deleted every users normal.dot file on this computer and nothing seems to make this error stop.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've seen this question posted and answered before on the Daily Word Tips listserv -- you might try posting your question there. http://www.dcomp.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=dailywordtips Sorry, I can't remember what the answer was!

 

Try creating another user (doesn't have to be a member of the admin group) and then login as that user and see if you experience the same problem.
