MS Word Replacement

I'm tired of Microsofts bloat. I just rebuilt my system and want to install a word processor and image editor. I'd like to have something small and if possible a program or 2 that only puts files in its own folder and doesn't write a bunch of uneeded reg entries.

Is there such a thing?

I rarely need word anymore at home for anything other that editing and printing my resume.

I would like to be able to crop/resize/convert images also.

I would really appreciate your comments

Good luck finding a decent program thats standalone. Good replacements would be Open Office and Abiword.

Give OpenOffice.org For Windows a try compatible with MS Office files, and doesn't have all the bloat of MSO.

For an image editor you can try The Gimp.

I'm looking for something REALLY small. Kinda like instead of Adobe I use Foxit. (1 meg and runs with just the files in its own folder)

What about just using wordpad. This should be built into windows itself?
