Yesterday, 8/15/16, MS Word stops at splash screen, "Starting..." and will go no further.
MS Excel will start, but stops responding when changing a cell's text color.
Can only access Windows Control Panel thru a Command window.
Ran all the anti-malware programs yesterday. When final program had run, the problem appeared to be fixed. But it is back this morning (this is the first re-start since the last anti-malware program was run).
    Thanks much for any help.

Your logs are clean. I suggest you post in the software forum if you wish to, to further discuss this. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

After receiving this reply, I re-booted once again, tried to start Word, got the message, "Word failed to start correctly last time. Starting Word in safe mode will help you correct or isolate a startup problem to successfully start the program. Some functionality may be disabled in this mode. Do you want to start Word in safe mode?"
I clicked "yes". I don't recall the exact text that followed, but there was -more or less- a reinstall of MS Office Single Image 2010, done without any clicks from me.
I recall that the system attempted to do this yesterday, but got hung up in the process.
Anyway, this fixed all the problems, INCLUDING not being able to click directly to Windows Control Panel. What MS Office has to do with this Windows function is beyond me.
Just thought I'd let you guys know what happened. You do good work. Thanks.
