There is no legal way to "download" Microsoft Word from the internet.

There are untrustworthy 'cracks' out there on the internet on many warez and P2P websites. However I do not suggest using them because they are not only illegal but they are dangerous as well. Cracked versions of software programs can often damage your computer and/or compromise the information stored on your computer by stealthily and remotely sending your private and personal info out to who-knows-where!

Not to mention the fact that this forum does not support cracks or those who create, distribute or seek them!

The only way to "legitimately" install Microsoft Word onto your computer is to purchase either the Microsoft Office suite installation CD or to buy a Microsoft Word installation CD.

You might try buying a copy of either of these Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office CD’s from an online site like eBay or perhaps Craigslist. Even if you go to these sites; you still have to be very careful because people on these discount sites sometimes peddle cracked and "used up" or versions where the MS Product Key is invalid thereby making the software inoperable.

    Good Luck

Not exactly, but if you save it as an .rtf (rich text file) it may retain its format/settings. Especially if you go from Word to Wordpad, etc.

Consider the following free alternatives to MS Office.

    OpenOffice: :major

    IBM Lotus Symphony. :cool

you could use it for resumes, but it'd be very plain.

http://software.pricegrabber.com/suites/p/169/form_keyword=ms+office/rd=1/st=query/ <-- i have bought software from pricegrabber.com (checked out the sellers reviews/comments). however, with any resellers you have to be careful. in my case i had to call microsoft to have them activate the software, but it was no big deal as they said it was legit, they just needed to know where i purchased it from. anyway, g/l - sos

Word has many more features than Wordpad. So, you may or may not find Wordpad satisfactory, depending on what features you'd like to have available to use for letters and resumes. For example, if you wanted create columns for distinct parts of a resume, you won't be able to do that with Wordpad.
