MS Works History

I am migrating applications from my old computer to a new PC.
On the old PC, my wife uses MS Works v9 to do her home office stuff and when she saves finished documents, Works creates a "history" file so she can go right back and re-do whatever she chooses from that history list.
I have re-installed Works and all documents she created in Works to the new PC and want to regain the document history to the program.
Is there a way to do this?
Windows XP Pro, SP-2.

Hi

Offhand no, dont think this history list can be migrated sadly as it could be built into Works, however try his as it may highlight any Recent file links, which maybe the History list.

Download and install CCleaner and run it then click Cleaner > then the Applications tab, look for Works in the list and right click it and choose Analyze, you should hopefully get a list in the main window of locations of the Recent files, could be a .LNK or .DAT file, browse to those locations and copy and paste the file to the exact location again on the new PC and it "may" work.

Halo,

Thank you for the suggestion. Actually before i got back to reading your reply...I took all of the wps files that had been created which I had copied to the new PC and just opened them (about 25 files). I then checked the history tab and "WHALLA"!!!! the files showed up in the history.
So, even though it took a few minutes, I was able to re-load the history list in the MS Works.

Yes re-opening them works too, glad you have this sorted, I know how useful having a history of recent files opened can be.
