I run empty temp folders v2.8.3 as part of my cleanup procedure after being on the net.
It lists 9 occurrences of mscreate.dir on my laptop. It will not delete them as they are obviously protected (read only? system file?). What does mscreate.dir do. Can I delete 8 of the 9. Which one, or how many should I keep. Is this another instance of poor programming?

as far as i can tell these are index files for MS OFFICE find fast creates when you access a directory you should be able to delete them as long as office is not running
they will get recreated next time you access a folder
you should be able to stop this by removing it from your startup

Thanks General for the quick reply. Using FIND there are 9 of them in various folders. All zero length files (0kb) and read only. I have deleted them to my Norton protected Recycle bin and will see what happens, Baz
