MSE minior issue

I have a minor issue with MSE (Microsoft security essential), for about the past month the icon that's usually in the bottom right of taskbar has gone.

It will show and stay if I manually open it by going thru the start menu , but whenever I restart my PC it's gone again.. I have tried to uninstall and Dl a fresh version, but the problem continues. Anyone know a how to fix?

I've been a MSE user for over a year and this has never happened so it's kinda annoying me.

 

Ypu have to click it in the startup tab of MSCONFIG

Hi Falcon sry for the late reply but I've been out of town.

I have looked over the two links you posted but the instructions seemed to be for xp users and I am running WIN7 so some things didn't match up.
