We got a "new" computer with Windows XP-SP3 on it. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials on it. After restarting the systray showed the attached icon with a security warning balloon
Your computer might be at risk
Microsoft Security Essentials is turned off
However, it is not turned off; I wouldn't even know how to turn it off. Any ideas?

The icon has been there all morning, and all day yesterday.

But now, just after I submitted the above post, the icon disappeared!

    Well, that's solved then... :cool

I got one of those yesterday (the first in a very long time) and when I opened the MS Security Essentials, it was showing as on and updated.
I rebooted and everything was back to normal.
