Msi Gp72mvr 7rfx Won't Recognize Nvidea Gtx 1060

I have an MSI GP72MVR 7RFX laptop which has a GEForce GTX 1060 GPU onboard. Problem is that it's only showing an Intel HD 630 in the device manager and as a result the HDMI won't work. I've tried to install the NVidea drivers, but it's telling me that it cant detect any NVidea hardware, and won't continue. I know the GPU is there, it just won't pick it up. I've read that there's manual switch on some MSI notebooks that switch between integrated and secondary GPUs, but I don't see any sort of physical switch anywhere. I can't figure this out for the life of me. Is the GPU dead? I'm starting to think so, but I'm not convinced that's the issue. Thoughts?

 

Download DDU, run it in safe mode and then reinstall a fresh set of drivers, let us know if this works!

Also, make sure it's not disabled in the BIOS, or via the switch which I've never heard of; well a hardware switch anyway.

Didn't work unfortunately. Also I should have mentioned, I just completely wiped and reinstalled Win 10, but it wasn't working before either.

 

Maybe, possibly, it could go to a professional to check voltages on the NVIDIA card? In some cases I know the Intel drivers need to be installed first, but this sounds to me like it has come away or is shorted to ground.

 

Did you try installing the video drivers from MSI's support page, both Intel and NVIDIA?
