I have an MSI K7T Turbo 2 MB version 3.6 and an AMD athlon XP 2600+ Barton core the 333 MHz buss version. It is clocking at 1.5ghz.

I have read that my MB does not do 166mhz FSB natively only 133. As a work around can I increase the FSB in my bios to compensate? if so will it negatively effect my other components?

Tough call. You can increase the FSB but all you're really doing then is overclocking a chip that's not supported. I would suspect, if you haven't tried this already, that it would cause stability issues and possibly read the processor as being faster without actually accomplishing anything.

See if there is a newer BIOS for your board, maybe the chip will be supported properly.
Google how to overclock your specific setup. Typical thread is

I believe MA is correct, upping your FSB to 166 will probably be unstable. FSB increases a lot more than just CPU speed. If you are not VERY familiar with your BIOS settings, now is the time to start digging.
