msi neo2 oc questions

i got these settings from another thread

Set Cool n' Quiet to disabled
Set Spread Spectrum to disabled
Set Dynamic overclockign to disabled
Set AGP clock to 67
Set Memory timing to 1T
Set Aggressive timing to disabled
In here you will have to disable ati/nvidia speed up

I know about ocing a64 but i need to know other settings i have to alter. Ill be using 3000+ winchester, 1gb ballistix ddr400.

1) I dont use sata so do i have to disable anything to do with raid?
2)fast writes? on or off?
3)aperture size? i have a 256mb 6800 gt. Whats the best size?
4)any other settings that i did not mention?

5)also does this mobo have issues with cpu fans? My abit av8 did not detect my 92mm panflo fan so it freaked me out with loud warning beeps. Does the neo2 have a similar feature like this?

 

Fast writes on for Nvidia cards off for ATI ....

AGP apature 128 MB ( the more video ram is on the card the less APG apature you need contrary to what most think...)

If you not using it disable it....

Most fan sensors cant read the speed if the fan is spinning slow...

 

yeah the epox 9a3daj did not detect my fan speed either but it did not give any warning beeps.

 

Ace you cant enable fast write on this board at all its a bug,it halfs performance and causes lockups I'v tried with 4 different bios's,if you have read everything I posted in the other thread and read the whats in the links,and aces overclocking guide you should be set to go,also yeh you are gonna have problems with the panaflo,if its the one with only two wires and no speed sensor it can activate the safety and stop it from booting,no harm so if it boots your golden

p.s the 1.9 bios is out but I aint tried it,no probs with the 1.8.

 

i ordered a panaflo with a rpm sensor. I did have an abit av8 and the stable oc seemed to be 2.2ghz with a 3000+ winchester. I think my ram (crucial ballistix ddr400) was holding me back. Cant wait to get my neo2

 

I have a Neo2, the temp sensors seem to be whacky. Just an FYI.

I can vouch for the FW on this board, too. It never halved my performance, but crashed me a lot. Its been that way for most motherboards though. Most tweak guides reccomend disabling it and not even messing with it for the few, if any fps increase it will give you.

Interestingly enough, bios 1.9 for this board allows you to adjust agp sidebanding. I haven't seen that option in a long, long time.

Of course, that bios also deletes the Nvidia Nforce nic mac address, and causes some other interesting quirks, so I don't reccomend going over the 1.8 bios at this time.
