MSN 9 blocks outbound .JPG attachments

A friend uses MSN 9 software for her browser and for email. Any time she tries to attach a file, usually a .JPG, to an email, it is blocked.

A message box appears that says something like " the potentially harmfull attachment was blocked". The box has MSN in the title bar, so I'm assuming that it's MSN that is blocking it. She uses McAfee, but this doesn't appear to be a McAfee alert box.

There are no viruses on the computer, and as far as I know, a .JPG is not considered harmful since it executes no code.

I looked all through the MSN settings and found nothing about un-blocking outbound email attachments. A google search said that it was likely a McAfee thing, but clearly it isn't since I tried all of the McAffe settings as well.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Steve

EDIT - PC is a brand new Dell, with XP Pro. McAfee is the latest version, with all definitions up to date.

    evil,

It sure looks like a McAfee thing. I think McAfee has a patch available, came across a few last night and wasn't sure which was the right one.

I will look again tonight and send you the page. In the meantime and to make sure, have your friend turn off the McAfee email scanner and see if that works.
