I recently installed an add-on for MSN (MSN Polygamy) whiched basically lets you run two accounts at once. But I keep getting this message every 30 minutes or so saying "Please register and pay to gain more features etc. etc. etc.". So I thought **** this, I'm not putting up with this message all the time, so I unistall the add-on through Add/Remove Programs. However the message still persists and I don't know how to get rid, i've ran both spyware and adware searches but both don't fix the problem. So I did a bit of looking around an found this

Are these two processes normal or should they not be there? End process won't get rid of them. I did a search and found both a located in the Windows Registry, shall I just delete them from there.

    What do you suggest? Thanks

It seems these are Adware added on from MSN content plus, try right clicking both processes and hit end process tree. It might work it might not, that was the only fix I was able to find in my breif research but, since this is more of Virus, Spyware and Adware issue I think that the Malware part of the forum would be more suited to this cause.

End process tree wouldn't work. Wouldn't simply deleting the files in registry work?

    No.

The registry just contains data not files.

These files ARE malware, you should follow the below steps and create a new thread in the malware forum with the requested logs.

Our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
