Hey people, is there any way to "STOP" msn messenger flashing in the taskbar when you receive a message?

ive been told to try msn messener DLL file replace.. didnt work

try windows tweak program didnt work

patch msn didnt work.

its driving me insane flashing all the time

please help! lol

Try this:
Right click on the taskbar ....properties ...customize ....change msn to always hide.

Assume you hit apply after changing? Or no option in customize?

right click on taskbar > properties > customise> msn messenger - always hide > ok > apply > ok

Hmmm... you might try TweakUI. There is a setting there that you can use to keep applications from flashing on the taskbar. Not sure if it works for messenger, but for the price (free), it may be worth investigating. You can download TweakUI here.

lol well if i sign off msn then i wont get the messages if thats what u mean

i want to be able to get messages from people but not flash when they are received..

Don't use msn ....daugther does (may have to ask her LOL) but are there any setting you can change in msn tools/options?

well looked on google and alot of people are having the same problem, and im not sure it this email reply on a forum was official from microsoft but they said that there is no options and you cant do it.

but saying that a few people recon they have used that windows tweak program to do it, however me and a few friends have tried this and it will not work, msn overrides everything!

I don't use Messenger, in fact I deleted it, but a google search gave a few links to the flashing.

I deleted the naughty links that google found and searched again. Don't know if any of them will help you, though. Worth a look.

I use Trillian. It covers most of the commonly used Messenger type programs.

i use 7.5 msn messenger, however it seems msn will not fix this, so i think i might try trillan..
