MSN headache

It appears that after i installed AVG and tried to set up AVG to scan incoming MSN file transfers in the MSN messenger option that it has has a negative effect...

How? I play LineageII and up until this point i could talk to people in game as well as on msn with out any sign of lag in game. Now it completely clogs up my system.

I know the above may not be related and it could be linked to something else but its the only thing i can remember changing...

So i have tried to completely remove msn but apparently theres more to it than just uninstalling msn. (additional folders or something)

 

It could be that AVG is seeing MSN messenger activity as file transfers, and is therefore scanning all the messenger activity in real time, totally slowing things down. Try turning off AVG while playing Lineage and while using MSN messenger and see what happens....

*grin* Yeah i tried that.... Basically how I came down to pinning msn as the problem was to sit in game and ventrillo and slowly shut down processes in the back ground until the lag stopped. (pretty easy to identify because it sounded like some one was hitting pause in vent and then all of a sudden fast forwarding everything everyone said for the 30-60 seconds)

After when i shut down msn and wait the 10-15 minutes before picking another app to shut down Bingo no lag. So then i worked in reverse. Turning on the programs i had shut down with the exclusion of msn and still no lag.... so i wait about an hour then poped open msn and my game and voice com came to an insta halt... :cry :cry :cry :cry :cry

Blah the whole business is driving me nuts... I suppose i could try using a different messenger service so i still have access to my msn contacts but i feel like i am giving in! dang it and i don't wanna do that must fight the lag!:major
