    Hi Peter,

Quickest way to view your history (assuming that you had it set to record chats) is to ask MSN itself to show it to you.

With MSN signed in, click on File - View Message History and look for her user name in the box that appears. Double-click on her user name and the history will be shown.

You can look at the history without being signed in if you know where it's kept on your computer, which can be quicker than signing in. You need to be signed in to ask MSN where it's kept, though.

While signed in to MSN, click on Tools - Options and then Messages and look down near the bottom to see where it's putting your chats. If you can't see all of it, just click the Change button and it will show you in just the same way your computer asks where you want to save a file and you can see the lot properly.

Looking in the folder directly can also be helpful when you're not sure what the person's current username is. (Some of my friends keep changing their name or the style they use and then I can't find them in the list because I can't remember what to look for.) The filenames in your history folder are the first part of their email address instead of their username and the email address doesn't change.

Um, I think you're on the computer without a monitor! (As opposed to up the creek without a paddle. ;) ) Unless you happen to have something else such as MSN Plus set to log? Same deal in looking to see where the history is kept but use the menu that comes with the add-on program.

Sounds like you'll have to email her and ask her for the phone number. Hope you didn't need to get in touch quickly!
