msn zone error "failed to download ..."

Hi all

I do training and service for the 'seniors' - 50+ community here in Florida (I'm very busy!) So, I see a lot of errors and messages that I don't usually run accross.

Customer has a new machine running Win XP w/ SP2, didn't get the exact specs but assume low end machine with standard graphic card, etc.

Win XP firewall is running and so is Norton Anti Virus.

Customer plays online games and wants to get back to playing MSN Zone game Spades, which runs (I think) with a Java or Flash script to bring up the multi player game board. The game keeps erroring out.

I tried changing the IE settings, allowing more in and less security, tried restarting and adjusting the firewall settings and then re-downloading the game database, per instructions on the MSN site. No help.

Here's the message that I get:

MSN Zone error. Failed to download //fdl.msn.com/zone/datafiles/cardboard.za

Any ideas???

 

Online gambling sites?... can you say "spyware"...

Oh, and I don't think that Microsoft has spyware setups in it's gamerooms ... they're just there for fun and a lot of my retired clients like to go to those game sites to pass the time and have some online friends to talk with. I encourage it!
