Does anyone know o a program that can stop or scan exe files or anyother files befor you get it downloaded? plz email me thx

 

Just about any good virus scan program should do this.. I am assuming you are talking about email attachments??
I use Norton

If it is on a website or newsgroup... as far as I am aware you need to download it first and then scan it....

What i mean is messenger while chating there might be a virus in the file... so yeah thx for your time and effort

 

the file typically needs to be completely downloaded to your system before it can be detected. At this point, any good anti-virus' real time scanner should pick up if there is a virus in the file.

 

Right click on Start and run your scanner

 

presuming you have an Antivirus? (if not AVG is a good bet) Most new ones let you natigate to the folder (for msn that would be My Recived files) and right click the attachment/file and then click scan (or in my case eTrust EZantivirus

 

Ok thx everyone, just thought there was a program to scan or even block bad files befor its downloaded...
