msswss.com

Today, I had a weird experience. I opened the Skype app on my Win 8 laptop because I heard an alert that someone was trying to call me. I was not able to receive that call from some reason. And, while Skype was open on my screen, I heard a message from msswss.com telling me my computer was not protected, that it was performing poorly, and it was trying to get me to "activate" their service; apparently, activating would have downloaded and installed software from them.

By the way, I have Windows Firewall running and avast! Free antivirus.

Anybody heard of msswss.com? I checked www.mywot.com and found nothing about msswss.com. The lower part of the msswss.com home page says:

If you visit msswss.com, I strongly suggest you NOT click on Activate unless you know a lot more about them than I know.
