MSVCP60.dll error in 98se

Ok latest issue now is this error. I went to my favorite poker site to download the software to play and now it will not load (hence the msvcp.60 error). I had all this on and it was working fine before I had to do a reinstall of 98se. Done the file check which it didn't find any missing files, updated library, installed vb6, java, and a couple other things that I've probably forgotten about trying to fix this issue. So when I try all I can --- I resort to posting for HELP. Thanks everybody

I suspect you may have multiple copies of the file on your computer in different folders, with different versions.

 

Thanks wavetar for the help. I was at that site you provided already in hopes of fixing this prob but I haven't got anywhere yet. I hate to give up on an issue without solving it but it looks like I may be better off by trying another reinstall. Before I do that I'm gonna burn myself out with trying to find a solution to this---It'll get it fixed one way or another. Thanks again and I'll keep posting on what happens-after all I'm a stubborn individual and I refuse to give up easily just look at the OS I still use 98se lol.

 

You could copying it from someone else computer on the floppy drive.

 

or you could go to google and type download dll

 

Thanks for the advice there scott but I've been there done that. I've downloaded so called fixes to no avail,I have the disk to extract the file from but the file checker gives me a reading of all files are there. I even went into DOS and renamed the file, deleted it, added it and so on but I still have the issue. It only does it on one particular website (which I dont understand becaused I had the software installed before and everything worked fine) so I'm just gonna roll with it for awhile until something else comes up. I have other things I have to do and as much as I want to take the time to figure things out I'll have it on the back burner. At least I can visit major geeks and post issues with this old clunker---when I cant do that then I'll PANIC !! LOL
