Is there actually anything that I can play that will give me 5.1 surround sound on my pc? UT2004 doesnt seem to give me it..of course just playing music doesnt.

Movie DVDs. Don't know of any other application that truly supports it (as in it has 6 separate channels of recorded sound).

haha, bugger, i dont have a DVD drive. Well I guess this was a waste of money! I'll have to get me a DVD drive then I guess.

I thought some games supported surround sound? The sound card is a nForce Sound Storm (built into the nForce2 Mobo)

They do support surround sound, but it's all simulated. It's basically 4-point stereo but it's only there to give the illusion of the Dopplar effect. You could get better results for that with a decent set of headphones.

Hmm, I guess so. I have got a decent set of headphones.. so that cool. I'll be getting some sort of 5.1 audio mixing program sometime soon hopefully, so I can mix down audio for DVD and surround CDs (SACD supports 5.1, right? if not, audio-DVDs). So yeah, not a complete waste of time
