multimedia audio controller(w/ everest report)

i recently formatted my computer and after intallation cud not hear any sound.dont have the setup cd.i tried all posssble t/s from the scratch.firstly i found that no audio device was installed on my computer from sound and audio properties.so i went ahead and checked in device manager --ther under sound video and game controllers evrything was proper without any error--here is the list audio codecs,legacy audio devices,legacy vidoe capture devices,media control devices video codecs---nothing wrong here.

and then i find other devices with yellow ? under which i even find multimedia audio controller again with a yellow ? with an ! above it.---updated it ,uninstalled and reinstalled --no use.downloaded the matching s/w (soundmax)--did not help.it shows this message everytime i install soundmax---driver not found!reboot the system and run the setup again

i wud appreciate any help.
