    Hey all
I just searched high and low here for a small little download to help me take a large program from a cd, and span it onto multiple diskettes. (I don't know how to do it by myself). I know there are sharewares out there, I had one at one time. I need to get my MSWORD onto diskettes to install in an old laptop that has only a floppy drive. Much help with a link, would be wonderful
    THANKS ;)

Sounds suspect to me. If you have MS Word already installed on one PC, it is illegal to install it on another, by diskettes or not. Try a google search on "splitting files" or similar, as there many out there. Laplink is another way to transfer files but you need a "laplink" cable. I used it years ago, but not recently. They may have a trial version you can try. Google for "laplink". Bazza

I think HJ split may work .. I'd pull the drive and chain it in another system copy the files over then put it back in the laptop.. but you'd need an adapter for the drive.. but it would be SO much easier.

Thanks for all your help, I will see what I can do.
I didn't know that if I bought MS word, and installed it in two of my own pc's it was illegal. Thanks for the input.

Did a google search for "MS Word" and "free" or "freeware", and found this.
AbiWord - A Free, Decent, MS Word Clone for Linux, MS Windows, & Other Platforms

Have never used it so can't comment.

You will probably still have to split it over diskettes, though. Bazza

If you have a network connection and plently of free space, you can use a cd imaging program to create an image on the desktop then copy it through the network to the laptop, and then use a program called daemon tools (free) to mount the cd and install from a virtual cd.
